New Year of 2026
2026 has arrived! It was celebrated with fireworks and revelry as each timezone turned to midnight. Sydney, Australia and New York City, United States had the largest celebrations; however, many people celebrated around the globe. Join us on a trip to see all the different New Year's celebrations around the world.
The first city in the world to start celebrating New Year's Sunday morning was Sydney, Australia. The fireworks were some of the most beautiful that I have ever seen. Sydney Harbour was filled with large crowds watching the fireworks display and celebrating the first countdowns of the New Year!
Next, celebrations shifted to the Middle East. Dubai United Arab Emirates was the most prominent. Major fireworks exploded over the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Several thousands of people gathered to see the sight and enjoy the entertainment.
While many cities were similarly whimsical and magical, Moscow, Russia was the epicenter for whimsical celebrations. In Red Square, amusement ride attractions were set up, and people rode on a carousel with brightly lit twinkling lights during the midst of winter festivities.
In Bangkok Thailand, thousands of people filled the streets to celebrate the arrival of the New Year. Fireworks lit up the night sky as people danced, laughed, and celebrated with a distinct Southeast Asian flair.
